Dr Hazel Dalton

Dr Hazel Dalton is a Senior Research Fellow in Rural Public Health (Health Services) at the Rural Health Research Institute, Charles Sturt University, in Orange in regional NSW, Wiradjuri country. She is a leading applied and translational researcher focused on strengthening rural and remote health systems, with expertise in health services research, integrated care, and community led co design. Dr Dalton leads and collaborates on major national projects spanning rural mental health, disaster resilience, ageing well, and quality improvement with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

Her work emphasises translating evidence into policy and practice through strong partnerships with communities, health services, and government. She is Chair of the Rural Behavioural Health Collaborative (Global Leadership Exchange) and holds adjunct and affiliate roles with the University of Newcastle and the University of Canberra. She has an established national and international profile in rural health research and system reform.
