Dr Tom Evens is the Executive Director of Medical Services and Research at NSW Ambulance and a senior emergency physician with more than 15 years’ experience across emergency medicine, prehospital care, and complex retrieval systems in Australia and the United Kingdom.
A Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and the UK Royal College of Emergency Medicine, Dr Evens has held senior medical leadership roles with NSW Ambulance, the London Ambulance Service, and multiple physician‑led retrieval services. His work spans high‑acuity trauma, clinical governance, workforce development, and the integration of research into frontline practice.
In addition to his operational leadership, Dr Evens has a strong interest in human factors, performance, and coaching, drawing on experience with elite clinical and sporting teams operating in high‑pressure environments. He brings a practical, system‑focused perspective to improving clinical safety, performance, and innovation in complex healthcare settings.
